Monday, July 20, 2009. Great Stupa of Sanchi is situated in district Raisen of state Madhya Pradesh. It was built by The Great Ashoka, who was The Indian Emperor of the Mauryan empire in the third century BC,often called emperor of all ages. He promoted The Buddhism all over the world. Hemisphere like structure has entrance with four gates and stairs around this stupa by which we can move round over the hemispherical structure.
